As a minimum system requirement a Lotus Notes client of version 5.09, 6.0 or 6.5 has to be installed at the target system.

Installation
GeoCom® Customer & Contacts will be delivered as NSF-file. The following steps are necessary for a successful installation:

Step 1
Install Lotus Notes 5.09 or higher
If an adequate Lotus Notes client has already been installed to your system it can be used to run the application. In this case skip this step.

Information on installing a Lotus Notes client can be found within the user manual of your Notes software.

Step 2
Copy the database file
Download the current test version of GeoCom® Customer & Contacts from our website. On demand we can also provide you with a disk or CD-ROM containing the test version.

Unzip the file ccp254.zip using a standard ZIP program.

Copy the unzipped file ccp254.nsf into your local Notes data directory. In case of a standard Notes installation, this is

C:\notes\data

Step 3
Removal of write protection
Switch to Explorer (e.g. by right-clicking the "Start" button). Then select the file you just copied, right-click it and select "Properties". Remove the write protection (if necessary).

Step 4
Opening the database
Switch to your Lotus Notes client. From the Notes workspace select

File - Database - Open

and select the database from the list. The test version of GeoCom® Customer & Contacts has now been installed to your Notes desktop and will automatically be opened.

Step 5
Setting access rights
Close the database.

Now you can specify access rights by selecting the database icon within your Notes desktop and then choosing from menu:

File - Database - Access Control

Set the default access to AUTHOR and specify one or more of the following roles for certain persons or groups:

  • [Admin] – Change configuration (requires at least EDITOR access)
  • [Admin-uk] – Views "Configurations (Backup)" and "Lost documents"
  • [AgentWV] – Right to start or stop the agent handling re-submission entries
  • [CreateOffer] – Possibility to create offer documents
  • [CreateTA] – Possibility to create transaction documents
  • [Lan-uk] – Default role for standard views and language selection (should be specified for EVERY user, regardless of further access rights)
  • [MoveDocs] – Right to change assignments of documents to customers
  • [SetSMTPSender] – Configuration of sender's address of outgoing e-mails
  • [ViewOffer-uk] – English views for offers
  • [ViewTA-uk] – English views for transactions
  • [ViewTickler-uk] – English re-submission view
  • [ViewWV-uk] – English global re-submission views

Be sure to provide at least one user with the access type of MANAGER because only users with this access type can perform further changes to the Access Control List (ACL).

Further, you should provide at least one user with the access type of EDITOR (or higher) and the role [Admin], as only this combination enables users to perform changes to the global configuration document.

Step 6
Consistent ACL
For a local installation, the option "Enforce a consistent Access Control List across all replicas" within the tab "Advanced" has to be activated. Otherwise roles and access rights would not properly be checked by the application.
