How to: Configuration
Privat customer
(6/14)

Create serial number when saving new document

Private customers can also be provided with a serial ID number upon saving. The build rules are analog to those for companies:

The tag <SERIAL> will be replaced by the current serial number which will be padded with leading zeros if need arises. Arbitrary text can be added to the number.

Example:
P-<SERIAL> yields P-007009
Private customer <SERIAL> yields Private customer 007009

Setting for letter salutation
Within this section a special format for letter salutation in letters to private customers can be defined. The settings are the same as for contacts.

Example:
<SALUTATION>=Mr* | Dear <SALUTATION> <TITLE> <SURNAME>
<SALUTATION>=Herr | Sehr geehrter Herr <TITLE> <SURNAME>,
<SALUTATION>=Frau | Sehr geehrte Frau <TITLE> <SURNAME>,
* | Dear Sir or Madame,

This setting will start letters to private customers with a salutation of "Mr." or "Mrs." with the words "Dear Mr." or "Dear Mrs." followed by title and surname of the person.

If a German salutation is used, e.g. "Herr", the letter salutation will be "Sehr geehrter Herr" also followed by title and surname.

Clicking the "Default" button will overwrite the current values with internal application default values.

The settings sepcified in this section will only take effect when the user has not stated any other settings within his personal configuration.

Settings for postal address
Special settings regarding the address format of letters to private customers can be made here. Configuration is done in analogy to the settings for contact profiles.

An example for such a format could be:
<SALUTATION><CR><TITLE> <GIVENNAME> <INITIAL> <SURNAME><CR><ADDRESS><CR><BR><ZIP> <CITY><CR><COUNTRY>

Clicking the "Default" button will overwrite the current values with the internal application default values.

The settings sepcified in this section will only take effect when the user has not stated any other settings within his personal configuration.

Allow contacts for private customers

With this field you can select whether or not contact profiles for private customers can be created.

#

If this field is activated, contacts can be added to the private customer in the same way as they can be added to (company) customers.

Synchronizing fields between customer profile and associated contact profiles
This section only needs to be configured when the selection field "Allow contacts for private customers" has been activated.

As with customer profiles, two fields can be defined independently:

The first field holds a list of field names that should unconditionally be synchronized from private customer to corresponding contact profiles.

The list of fields within the second field will additionally be synchronized in case the option "Allow update from customer profile" has been activated within the corresponding contact profiles.

Further settings
For all parameters which have not explicitely been listed here, private customers will be regarded as company customers, i.e. all remaining settings from the Customer section are valid for private customer documents.
